Your Android device is going to be sounding a little more sultry!
Google announced on Tuesday, May 8th at its I/O developer conference that the silky smooth voice of John Legend will be one of the six new voices coming to Google Assistant.
Instead of having the voice actor record every single response, the voices were created using WaveNet, which analyzes speech patterns and uses raw audio to generate speech that mimics typical humans delivery.
The new voices will be available in phone and home speakers using Assistant later this year.
Upon hearing the news of Legend lending his voice to Assistant, Teigan tweeted had a little fun:
I don’t even need human John anymore https://t.co/qF885WtXdp

To which John replied, “Well. The Google Assistant doesn’t do EVERYTHING.”
