Wow, people stay off your phone while you’re driving!
New distracted driving laws came into place Nov 1st, and by the end of the month 237 Manitoba drivers had their driver’s licence suspended for a minimum of three days. Oh and with that, drivers that were caught using their phones also faced a fine of $672 and five demerits.
In one month, Winnipeg police caught 149 drivers, while the RCMP reported 67 and the Brandon Police Service 21. ALL were charged for using a hand-operated electronic device while driving.
This is a friendly reminder to put your phone down when you are driving. Be smart on the roads!
