A New Service Offers A Safe Driving Option After A Night Out

A new company has arrived to give Winnipeggers another option in getting home safe after a night of drinking.

Driverseat Winnipeg will officially launch this Thursday and provide another safe driving option, similar to the service provided over the holidays by Operation Red Nose.

Driverseat drivers will drive you in your own vehicle to your destination after a night out, but also offer a transportation option for airport drop-offs and pick-ups.

Local franchisee, Steve Nikkel bought the local franchise in March and has been operating a soft launch since May.  He says there’s just not enough options and this will allow you to not have to plan ahead when going out.

One added feature for Driverseat is a smartphone app that operates similar to Uber and other ride-sharing options and allows a customer to utilize GPS to get estimates on cost and timing.  The cost of a Driverseat ride is “a couple of dollars more” than a city cab.

From July 13 through July 22 Driverseat is offering a $5-per-ride promotion through the app.
