Starting November, you could be getting a BIG ticket!
Manitoba is cracking down on distracted driving by incorporating licence suspensions and BIG tickets.
If you are caught using a hand-operated electronic device you will be paying $672 instead of $203! This all begins play Nov. 1 and effect anyone caught using a cellphone or other handheld electronic devices.
Obviously the idea is to keep keeping Manitobans safe, and reduce distracted driving.
Along with that, drivers could also have their licence suspended for up to three days when caught and seven days for every following offence in the next 10 years.
Oh AND, a drivers will need to contact Manitoba Public Insurance so they can conduct a review of the driver’s record where additional penalties could be added. A $50 fee will be charged for getting a licence back.
