Tattoos You Can Listen To – The Future Is Here!

Instead of everyone SEEING your favourite song lyrics on your arm, you could actually be able to HEAR them!

Skin Motion soundwave tattoos are the result of art, technology, and a bright idea coming together to create a whole new augmented reality tattoo experience – tattoos you can actually hear!  Whether it’s your favorite song or the voice of a loved one, you’ll be able to wear it – literally – on your skin, and play it back whenever you want.

Founder Nate Siggard, a tattoos artist in LA, got the idea when two friends got inked with the opening line from Elton John’s Tiny Dancer.  His girlfriend casually commented it would be cool if you could listen to it, and that’s when Nate started cooking up an idea in his mind.

Here’s how it works: the app and website generate a sound wave pattern out of any one-minute song or audio. Once you get your design, you can get it tattooed with a certified Skin Motion tattoo artist.

After 24 hours, the Skin Motion app can animate the tattooed sound wave pattern and add it so you could play the original audio file attached to the tattoo as many times as you want.

The app is in development right now and will be launched in June this year. Right now, the company is working on building their network by partnering with tattoo artists around the world who will be trained and certified to perform Soundwave Tattoos.

If you are a tattoo artist or a studio owner wanting to get involved, click here. If you’re interested in getting one, you can already sign up on a waiting list on their website.
