Trash can be beautiful too… right?

I have never been to New York City, but when I think about it, all I can imagine is busy streets, bright lights, and creative, beautiful people who live amazingly interesting lives (maybe I’m building it up in my head, but who cares).  One of those interesting people, floral designer Lewis Miller, is using repurposed flowers to decorate the city- leaving beautiful arrangements in garbage cans, statues, and anywhere else that inspires him. the project’s purpose is to “lure a childlike reaction” from passers by and to “surprise . He started the project in October of last year, when he and his team brought upwards of 2,000 flowers to the John Lennon “Imagine” Memorial in Central Park, and arranged a “Psychedelic halo of day-glo yellow, pink, red, purple, and orange delilahs and carnations.” The Feedback from the project- Flowers for the People- was immediate and overwhelming, spurring him and his team to continue decorating the city.
