If you’ve bought a generic USB charger to might want to check it because Health Canada has found many to be unsafe.
After an assessment they found that more than two dozen chargers pose a risk of electric shock and fire, affecting over 1.5 million units.
If you have one of the products, stop using it immediately and either return them or throw them away.
Also make sure that electrical products that you purchase have a recognized certification mark which will be on the product itself and not just the packaging.
