The Weeknd Ties Whitney Houston & Boyz II Men for Number of Weeks on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart

The Weeknd‘s Beauty Behind the Madnessscores its 122nd week on Billboard‘s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, and in the process, equals the chart runs of two 1990s juggernauts.

On the latest ranking, dated Feb. 3, Madness rebounds 45-34 and matches the 122-week runs of Boyz II Men‘s 1991 debut Cooleyhighharmony and the Whitney Houston-led The Bodyguard soundtrack from 1992.

With The Weeknd’s latest move, he ties Boyz II Men and Houston’s sets for the 10th-longest stay on the chart among all albums. Kenny G‘s Breathless leads the pack, with 185 logged frames.

Here’s a look at each album to claim at least 122 weeks on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums:

122, The Bodyguard, Whitney Houston/soundtrack, No. 1 (eight weeks), Dec. 12, 1992

Madness, released in 2015, endures on the chart largely through streams of the album’s songs via on-demand audio services. Three cuts do most of the lifting — “Earned It (Fifty Shades of Grey),” “Can’t Feel My Face” and “The Hills” — all of which topped the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart in 2015, with the latter two duplicating their success atop the Billboard Hot 100.
