Ed Sheeran celebrated the release of his latest song – ‘Galway Girl’ – by getting a tattoo of the song’s title.
At least that’s what he tried to do. The commemorative skin art was ruined by Saoirse Ronan when she misspelled the word ‘girl’ as ‘grill’.
The 23-year-old Irish actress appears in the music video for the song – shot in Galway this week – and was left rather red-faced for her spelling skills.
Ed talked about the gaffe at his gig in Glasgow on Sunday as he launches the UK leg of his tour, saying: “When we were filming it I meant to get a tattoo of her handwriting saying Galway Girl from her point of view. It actually says Galway Grill. G-R-I-L-L.”
He added: “I haven’t actually told anyone that yet. I’m actually quite proud of her. It’s the kind of thing I would do.”
If only pens had auto-correct.
