Winnipeg Woman Makes Blankets for Sask. Crash Victims

Michele Kane, a Winnipeg woman, is making blankets for those affected by the bus crash that occurred on Friday.

She is leading/organizing a national effort to crochet blankets because she wants to help in any way she can!

Michele is a member of the Facebook group called “Canadian Crocheters” and has lead the group to make blankets for the crash victims and their families. There are more than 1,500 members in this Facebook group, and the response has been amazing! Check it out:

There are people all over Canada making blanket squares, and every blanket will be made of 42 squares. Once the squares are completed, they will be sent to Michele where local volunteers will put them together to make blankets and send them out.

The blankets are the Humboldt Broncos team colours, yellow and green. They hope to complete the project by the end of April.
