Winnipeg’s river trail has been open for 73 consecutive days, beating its previous record of 72 days and there is still more winter left. Normally the trail shuts down after February 16 but last year it remained open until March 4th. At this point, the warming huts have been moved closer to the port and The Forks will determine when the trail will close on a day-by-day basis.
