FYI if you’re heading to the lake this weekend: Lake Winnipeg, specifically Gimli and Spruce Sands Beach have been issued an advisory and in some locations beach closures due to a sewage spill when a sewage line was damaged during some routine ditch maintenance. E. coli levels are 83 times higher than the recreational water quality objective…
E. coli levels right now are 16,756 E. coli per 100/ml when the beach goer safe levels are 200 per 100/ml.
Please refrain from going in the water and letting your pets drink from it if you’re in effected areas.
